Although I’m not a pilot myself, I come from a family of aviators. Both my father and brother have logged countless hours in the cockpit of jets and planes so aviation was often a topic of conversation in our house growing up. It is powered by the reliable 100 hp Rotax 912 iS engine that accepts both aviation fuel and standard unleaded gasoline. These features give the aircraft a range of up to 350 nautical miles at a maximum speed of 120 mph.
The cockpit is equally as impressive with meticulously designed features and styling most commonly found in high end luxury automobiles. Furthermore, since safety is always a concern for pilots, the ICON A5 is equipped with a highly unique parachute system that can be deployed in the event of an engine failure allowing the aircraft to glide safely to the ground.
