Painkiller Tattoo

My client's idea was relatively simple... Create a tattoo parlor that is more than your average ink shop, with some of the best artists in the business, that only use the highest-quality tattoo products and latest technology.
It is not every day you find someone who is truly passionate about an idea. Who is willing to take a risk to do something different, something seemingly big. Jim has a background in IT and has worked in the tech industry for years but he is passionate about tattoos and has always had a vision of opening his own tattoo parlor. Not being a tattoo artist himself, he first had to recruit amazing and talented tattoo artists that wanted to be a part of something big. He knew that creating a unique look was critical to his success. Although he had taken the first steps in doing so, what was developed didn’t quite hit the mark.

When I first sat down with him it was apparent that he needed a strong brand solution that would carry over into a new website, promotional material and ultimately the tattoo parlor itself. Initially I looked to establish the tone of the shop asking him how he envisioned the tattoo parlor looking and the type of clientele he wanted to attract. Once I had established the general profile of the business I got to work on the core visual element… the logo. It needed be edgy but also have a certain refinement to it. After coming up with a handful of solid solutions for him, one stood apart from the rest and Painkiller Tattoo was born.
